The Grammy Awards’ Fashion Trends

blog1It was a shinny night in the Grammy Awards this past Sunday. As the stars arrived and prepared for an eventful night, we sat and not only applauded their winnings but admired their fashion. Amongst their amazing style, there was one specific trend that spread like wildfire on the red carpet, metallic. We saw the ever romantic Taylor Swift in a silvery Gucci Premiere gown and Ciara showed off her baby bump in a rose-gold Emilio Pucci gown. Rita Ora sparkled in a long-sleeved, green-gold Lanvin cocktail dress and model Chrissy Teigan amazed the crowd in a silver gown with a plunging neckline.

POP ART INFLUENCES FASHION IN 2014

pop art 1Fashion has often looked towards art for inspiration, which is why it should not be a surprise that this spring we will see a lot of art-inspired fashion. But one of the most unexpected spring trends is inspired by Pop Art. Designers are finding encouragement in color-saturated pop art and infusing them into their collections. Prada is an example of one of the many designers that looked towards this popular cultural art. Prada debuted its Spring 2014 collection in Milan (photos shown above) and quickly the word spread about the resemblance to Pop Art. Nevertheless, Prada was not the only one influenced by this fun and colorful art style. Others such as, Chanel and Christopher Kane have also dipped their style into Pop Art.  This spring expect to see vibrant colors, illustrated by paintbrush patterns, spray can looks, and graphite revelations.
